Drift Cup Round 1 recap

On Sunday the British drift season kicked off in full effect with round one of the Drift Cup at Rockingham, and it did not disappoint! Great standard of driving by all involved and a good atmosphere at the event, hoping this level of energy can carry over through the rest of the drift cup season.

The podium spots for the event went to Danny Whyman in 3rd place, Ben Tyler in second and the first place victory went to Matyn Cowley of Team Lock ‘N’ Loaded. Congratulations to all the winners and will be great to see what everyone else can do this season.

Then there is Slide Motorsport’s own Stu Jones, who competing this year in his 2.2ltr SR20DET S14, who after scraping through qualifying finishing in 32nd place was able to make it through to the top 16, but sadly a few car issues let him down and after having a OMT battle was knocked out, here’s to hoping the next one goes a little smoother.

Then it’s on to the next one, April 15th at Three Sisters Race Circuit in Wigan for round two, we hope to see you all there!
