BDC 2018 Round One Recap

What an explosive start to the British Drift Championship this weekend just gone! We had 3 drivers in the Pro class this year representing Team Slide Motorsport and let’s just say they all got busy with it! Slide’s master fabricator Jason Clark stepped up to the challenge in his first outing in the pro class, qualifying in 6th place and jumping straight up to the top 16! He then faced off against last years champion Matt Carter and even though he didn’t succeed he sure gave him a run for his money. Congratulations JC we’re all super proud and hopefully you can continue this streak through the season. Also making it to the top 16 this year was Matt Stevenson, after spinning out in his first qualifying run it was all on the line, but he pulled it out of the hat and jumped into the 24, facing off against Brett Perry and getting right up on his door during the one more time run! Matt then also had a real challenge on his hands, with a battle against Driftworks Martin Richards, after a great chase run it was down to the lead and it didn’t go as smooth, with this being the end of the road for him. And last of all was Adam Simmons who had an issue during warm up with an airlocked radiator and despite efforts to get it back on the track, he couldn’t quite get it dialled in during qualifying and ended up a couple of places short, hopefully next round everything can go a bit smoother for him!
