Nissan SR20 Engine to 350z CD00X Gearbox Adaptor Plate Kit
We produce these adaptor plates in house from steel to make sure they stand up to the challenge. Where many other manufacturers use aluminium for their versions of these plates, we do not have quite as much faith in the material and as such have opted to use a much stronger and more durable material in the form of steel. Our steel adaptor plates are ready for you to throw 1000BHP and more at them.
All adaptor plate kits are supplied with a full set of mounting bolts, nuts & washers along with studs pre-installed for the starter motor so thats its ready to bolt up right out of the box.
These plates have dowels installed between the gearbox and the adapter plate to avoid misalignment and resulting engine and gearbox components being damaged. The dowels ensure a significantly reduced risk of misalignment. The plate also utilises the factory engine to gearbox dowels to align the adapter plate to the engine.
The CD00X Generation of gearboxes found in the Nissan 350Z have become synonymous with strength and reliability, especially in comparison to the standard gearboxes fitted to SR, RB and many other engines including the fabled 1JZ & 2JZ engines as the R154, V160 & V161 gearboxes get more and more scarce, the CD00X gearboxes are in far larger supply. More often than not when looking at 1000hp+ vehicles if they arent running a custom gearbox setup entirely, they are using a CD00X setup due in large part to the larger stronger gears along with a huge range of aftermarket support and modifications for everything from shifter relocation kits to a massive variety of clutch and flywheel options to suit every spec.
This is fast becoming the more popular conversion for higher powered SR20DET engines to ensure reliablity. Couple this with the fact that the CD00X gearboxes are also 6 speed transmissions meaning that they can offer far better gear ratios for both motorway miles and cruising around town but also for racing applications. Wether you are looking to blast your car along some backroads on a sunday drive, throw it sideways around drift tracks or prove that imports are faster than muscle down a drag strip, The CD00X gearbox is the perfect solution.
In addition to the adaptor plate kit you will need:
- A custom gearbox mount, such as the GKTech 350 to S13/14 mount which we can supply
- A modified custom 350z gear shifter and braket, Such as the GKTech one which we can supply
- A modified 350z propshaft (if you have the 350z prop shaft you could send this to us where we can have it modified and send back out to you) (Contact us here to arrange this)
If you are using this kit to replace a Nissan S13/S14 5 speed box there are 2 routes you can take:
- If you wish to retain the existing clutch and flywheel setup then you will need to have 12mm machined off of the face of the 350z gearbox bell housing.
- Alternatively you can use a clutch & flywheel setup for a Nissan S15 as this can be bolted up directly to the 350z gearbox bell housing with no aditional modiciations required. Please inform us if this is your intention so that we can ensure the correct fittings are supplied with your kit.
If you are using this kit to replace a Nissan S15 6 speed box:
- The CD00X gearbox will bolt straight up using the S15 clutch & flywheel without any modifications to the gearbox bell housing. Please inform us if this is your intention so that we can ensure the correct fittings are supplied with your kit.
